Here are some facts about coffee that you may not have known:

It is believed that in 800 A.D. (circa), shepherds in Ethiopia discovered coffee. They noticed that their goats would seem to 'dance' after eating the coffee berries. A monk then made a drink using the coffee berries and he claimed that the drink kept him awake at night.

Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world. Oil is the most traded.

Brazil produces around 40% of the world's coffee. Followed a long way down by Columbia and Vietnam.

It is possible to fatally overdose on coffee - you would have to drink approximately 100 cups.

Americans are the biggest coffee consumers in the world, drinking 400 million cups a day.

The most expensive and rarest coffee in the world is called Black Ivory Coffee. It's made from elephant poo. The elephants eat the beans and then the beans are plucked out of the poo. A kilogram of Black Ivory Coffee costs over $1,000.00 (US dollars).

There is a spa resort in Japan where you and your friends can bathe in coffee (just don't drink it!).

Anita Ekberg doesn't look too thrilled that there is no coffee left in the pot.
